The collection of case studies put together in this booklet is dedicated to Afghanistan and to the Afghan participants of the Master programmes Management of Development (MoD) and Agricultural Production Chain Management (APCM) run by our university – especially to those who started in 2009 and in 2010. The writers wanted to encourage the Afghan community by showing that the development processes they are experiencing are not different to those seen elsewhere, even if the general context is particularly difficult.
